We were so pleased with the performance of the woodburning Esse 1 se that we got a multifuel one too. This is, again in our victorian house and will heat all the downstairs when going and internal
doors left open. We have positioned both stoves (see our other review) outset from the chimney inside the room on slate hearths to get the advantage of radiated heat from the stove itself and the pipes leading to the chimney which all go into the rooms and not up the chimney! Do use kiln dried hardwood logs for woodburning cheaper in the long run.

We have bought 2 of these stoves for our house. I was looking at the top of the range stoves and my wife brought me back to earth. For the price of one expensive stove I could almost get 3 of
the Esse 1s. It is by far the best stove I have used or owned. Very easy to light, belts out the heat and is much bigger than it looks in the shop. It will take larger logs than you think could go in. For the price it will become a classic and I cant recommend this stove enough. Would I buy it again oh yes. Just love it to bits. P.s Airwash system excellent. Just buy it you won't regret it.

  • What a stove

We had looked at several stoves and did think that the ESSE 1 was a bit small but did the sums re room size etc and went ahead. The stove does so much more, we have an upstairs living room in
a large Victorian house and this stove will heat the entire upstairs once going, a great buy!
