Review of Ekol Clarity 12 low

Ekol clarity 12 low

There are some good features about this fire. The size is good, it looks nice but the quality of the internal components are very poor. I have had my fire 3 years now, after 12 months the baffle plate completely split in two. And the fire bricks don't seem to last long. After phoning the company I was told that the baffle plate and fire bricks are not covered under warranty. So I had to buy a new one costing around £80. My second baffle plate is warped and twisted but just holding together. So it won't be long before I need a new one. I have friends with different fires longer than 5 years and they have never had to change any of these components. So overall not brilliant.

Stove expert replied: The internal parts on stoves are not covered under warranty so this is not unusual. If the baffle plate is failing quickly, it may be due to the stove being overfired and care should be taken to insure that this is not the case. A stove thermometer will indicate the correct working temperature which is an inexpensive addition that will help to elongate the life of your stove.
