Review of Earlswood stove
air inlets
Hi, I installed this at the start of November as a secondry heat sorce. It has been lit evey evening. It seems to work fine with dry wood but the air wash doesn't and also the air intake doesn't seem suffient enough. I have closed all the vents at the back of the burner and it seems to have a bit more control but I am wondering if they need to be open or just slightly open because when I use the primary control at the top of the stove it doesn't close the fire very quickly. So my main question I suppose is what possition I should have the three vents at the back of the stove? I really hope someone can help and I look forward to the feedback left..
Many Thanks ToniaStove expert replied: The Airwash vent needs to be open at least half way to allow the glass to stay clean. The ones at the back of the stove will control the rate of burn so they need top be open fully on ititial lighting and gradually reduced until a gentle flame picture is achieved. They can be opened more if the stopve dies down too much or you need to give the stove stove a short period of fast burn to burn off tar residues that are produced during slimbering periods (ideally twice during any 24hrs of burning continuously.
