Review of Dowling Sumo stove

Dowling Sumo - brilliant, especially for woodworkers

Jacob Butler 3 months ago

I burn offcuts and sawdust. It''s the right shape for sawdust i.e. approaching a pyramid, then the surface of the heap burns without slumping back and choking itself. 3 coke hods full to fill it, makes handling easy. Very controllable - can be fast and efficient like a rocket stove.

For a quick burst of heat old paper and cardboard go off like a rocket and warm a room very quickly.

Maintenance free so far (10+ years) except when broke the glass accidentally.

Can burn slowly of course, but a little and often is more efficient and hotter
