Review of Contura 52C stove
Couture 53
Thought I would share a short review of the 53, it''s basically a 51 or 52, but has a curved back and long covered legs to form a log store. I have several stoves in my Italian farm house. This one is in the now finished sitting room. It was bought second hand, but by the looks of it, it has seen little use. It is placed in the corner of the room. The flue goes up through the floor into the bedroom above then out high up through the bedroom wall. That way the bedroom above is heated by the flue pipe. It''s very cold in northern Italy! Anyway, the stove is truly amazing! It burns very well, I have burnt compressed sawdust logs, good heat almost no ash.. I had a weeping willow that had bad storm damage. Not great wood but free and it heated the room easily, still keeping the glass clean. I had some very old oak from the old roof stored. It burned with an amazing flame, seemed to last the night. It''s such a quality piece of kit, it never soots the glass up. Uses little wood while generating impressive heat, I can see this stove getting lots of use as it''s so controllable, it has a large fire box, can accommodate odd shaped logs with ease. I recommend it completely...
