Review of Coalbrookdale Severn stove

No Real Complaint

Bruce Coonradt 10 years ago

I have owned a Coalbrookdale Severn Stove for over 15 years and have no real complaints. It heats my whole home 2000 sq ft. during the coldest evenings. My wife and I live in Annapolis, MD and have a heat pump as a primary heat source but burn wood when the temperatures drop to freezing. This is not a big issue but I do wish it took a larger log size! I did add a flue damper to help control burning and heat levels. I plan on refurbishing mine and keeping if for another 15 years.....

We have one of these in our house and have never used it and don't know where to start. After a nearly $1000 electric bill from our all electric baseboard heat house, I'm ready to give this a try. Can anyone explain how to use it? Is it best to use with wood or coal? Thank you!
