Review of Clearview vision 500 stove

Clearview Vision 500 multifuel

The best stove we have ever had. You really do get what you pay for with woodburning stoves...!\n\nBurns really well and stays in overnight if sensibly managed.\n\nWe bought it on recommendation from the chaps at Sarsen Stoves, and it does all we need it to do. \nWe are now looking to fit the back boiler option to the stove, as its output is so very good.\n\nNot the cheapest one on the market, but we have had this model now for almost 5 years, and it still looks as good as the day we first fired it up. \n\nAirwash is great, and you need to get a decent bed of ash for it to really show its stuff. \nWhen it is working perfectly i.e: the wood is being "charcoaled", the flames dance a few centimetres above the logs, and "non woodburning" people think its a gas fire - we soon put them right !\n\nThe fully lined chimney helps, and I wonder whether those who have left poor reviews for this stove have actually been shown how to use it correctly, or , have their chimneys correctly lined ?\n\nWe have the flat topped version, with enough room for a kettle, stockpot, frying pan etc, and its great fun "brewing up" in the lounge...!\n\nWorks best with big lumps of well seasoned hardwood, but equally happy - though obviously burns down quicker - with softwood logs and less well seasoned wood.\n\nWould thoroughly recommend the Vision 500.
