Review of Clearview vision 500 stove

Fantastic piece of kit.

Moving back out to the countryside from a town, I wanted something that helped to remove me from the shackles of the cost of oil fired heating.\n\nAfter visiting a local stove shop I was recommended the Clearview 500 vision, and haven't looked back in the three months of ownership. It lights easily, and the air wash keeps the glass very clear, using it every evening and most weekends it only needs a wipe of the glass weekly.\n\nIt handles all types of wood really well, and the large glass doors means that you really get the full benefit of the gas like dancing flames - in face the first time this happened I was concerned the wood has chemical in (it didn't). The stove even remains hot through most of the night, and with some careful planning and a good bed of embers I have got it through the night some weekends.\n\nI now use the stove to heat water for drinks, cooking veg etc. rather than the electric. I could not recommend this product more, and even though it's one of the more expensive stoves, I think that it's worth that little extra. \n\nOk, so the handle gets hot, but the gloves supplied are excellent, and at least the vent controls remain cool. I wouldn't be without it now that the frosts have arrived.
