Review of Clearview vision 500 stove

Design Classic? - Clearview 500

Paul Hooper 15 years ago

Having lived with woodburners for 40 years the Clearview 500 is by far the most efficient and pleasant stove to live with that I have used. Current model has been in use for 14 years and provides warmth and comfort on wood and coal. Now we avoid mixing the two fuels as it is hard on the chimney liner. The stove can be freshened up for looks with an annual or bi annual spray with stove paint. The glass stays clean with wood or coal when not damped down. The design is simple, robust and efficient. No experience of back boiler but wish we had one.\nIf you can't accommodate an Aga the stove provides a similar useful heat source with its flat top giving a useful cooking surface for Jams, Marmalades, etc. any long slow cook, assuming of course that it doesn't upset your domestic Yin, Yang or Zen. Recommended.
