Review of Clearview vision 500 stove

Superb stove

Ivor 11 years ago

Superb! Lights easily with seasoned hardwood, gets up to temperature in 5 minutes. Controls provide fine adjustment and can be operated with bare hands. Responsive, can be slumbered or woken up instantly.

Plenty of heat from the top so it heats kettles of water which we then store in thermoses for washing up. Haven't used the sink water heater since we had the Clearview.

For our other room we needed a smaller stove and so as not to run two woodpiles with different log lengths we bought an Esse 100DD. What a disappointment. Next summer we'll sell the Esse and buy a smaller Clearview and, yes, we'll run two log piles.

Can't over-praise the Clearview, not cheap but worth every penny.

Only niggle - hard to get the firebricks and baffle out for sweeping.
