Review of Clearview Pioneer 400 stove

Excellent woodburner

Robin 13 years ago

Excellent stove heating 7mx4m room though need to keep door open otherwise gets too warm! Suggest you avoid over sizing, this stove runs best when working though turns down well. Our oil consumption has dropped from 1800 litres to 1000 per annum. We do use well dried logs and flue cleaning after 2 years produced very little soot. Very easy to light and to control. Thermometer on stove is essential to running it well, easy to see when up to temperature and when temperature falling too low. In third season now, back fire ceramic has cracked so will need replacing. Highly recommended.\n\n

Stove expert replied: A chimney must be swept at least annually if not more for wood burners.
