Review of Clearview Pioneer 400 stove

Wonderful

Brian

Our first woodburner. Now 2 yrs old. Rarely any soot on glass ie always clear which it seems is the biggest problem with other Mfrs. Also little ash left over. We had a very tight chimney space to fit to in our small cottage so it had to be 5kw. I have to open the door half inch initially for 'max speed' (due to small space). Might go for a bigger size next time if possible. Bought Kindling is still quite big so I collect loads of small branches and dead wood (ie no dog poo!) after winds -let it dry safely by the fire. Also buying logs early (ie a year early) means great dry wood. Wonderful!

Stove expert replied: Ensure that wood is dry and seasoned with a moisture content of less than 20%. Getting wood from the fields etc may well still be too wet and be careful about drying near the stove!
