Review of Clearview Pioneer 400 stove
Clearview Pioneer 400 Woodburner
We purchased this stove after reading the reviews about it, a little bit more than we wanted to pay at first however it's now 6 months since it was installed and it was worth every penny, real quality product.
It heats the whole house to a bone warm level and the gas usage has cut down 60% ( just hot water ) electric down to as the kettle sits on the stove. On advise of the HEATAS installer we ran the flue up through the house as this put heat into the front bedroom and the loft which reduced the chance of frozen pipes, so no bends are in the SFL Nova flue and because the flue is always warm!!! it draws much better. We burn logs cut down in the fall when the sap has dropped back and they have been seasoned for 2 Years (Ash) they burn well. Yes the handle will get hot, Clearview thought this might happen and so supply Quality gloves!! A little tip to those wanting to get the fire to burn overnight, let the fire drop back a little and then place a restaurant grade charcoal brick on the base of the fire and then a seasoned log followed with a sprinkling of woodash, also try to keep a bed of ash 1" (25cm) thick, this works for us. Don't worry about value for money on this stove,Quality will be remembered long after price is forgotten. We will never be parted from this stove.Stove expert replied: Good tips on how to keep alight for over-night burn, not necessarily efficient but keeps the house at a more constant temperature.
