Review of Clearview Pioneer 400 stove

Me and my £50 Clearview stove!

Liz Higson 13 years ago

Bought my Clearview for £50, yes £50 secondhand! It had hardly been used and the previous owners nearly paid me to take it away as they wanted an electric fire!!!! Didn't know at the time what an amazing bargain I had found.

I've had numerous woodburners over the years but none have compared to the Clearview. It burns a fraction of the logs than my Villager stove, in another room, consumes.

The Clearview is so easy to light and control. We live in a large old house and with the Clearview in the main living room we barely put on the central heating.

I am now moving house and it really hurts to be leaving my bargain of a lifetime behind but I will not hesitate to invest in a brand new one for our next home.

Stove expert replied: A bargin this time but do take care if buying second hand - you have to ask why the seller is getting rid of an asset to most homes!!!
