Review of Clearview 650 stove

A generous stove for a big sitting room

Peter Mahaffey 12 years ago

This is a great stove for the very largest of sitting rooms (excepting the baronial). When run at a good operating temp it really throws out the heat. No problems keeping it in overnight so long as you have a good bed of hot ashes when retiring (see my review of the 750 for tips). Only problem after 5 years is slight ill-fitting of doors which no matter how we adjust the hinges, handle or rope, there still seems to be a tiny ingress of air but not a problem. Can certainly recommend. Worth getting the stand as an extra so that wood, kindling, dust-pan etc can be stored easily. Its also quite nice to have the fire at closer to eye level. \n\n

Stove expert replied: Two door stoves can have the sealing issue after time whereas you have less chance of this on a single door stove.
