Review of Charnwood Island I stove
Lack of Control
This stove was the second stove that we installed in our house. The Island 1 was recommended by the store owner to us. We should not have taken his advise as I was, and still am very happy with the first stove we bought from him which is situated in our kitchen the Huntington 40.
The Island 1 needs a lot of attention. It burns out far too fast and as a result costs a lot in the way of coal and timber. I can't seem to control the airflow as it won't shut down. Absolutely no way will the stove remain lighting overnight!! I do like the look of this stove and spare parts are never a problem in getting fom their website but it's like watching a newborn baby every night, making sure it's kept fed!!Stove expert replied: You may have an over-drawing flue on this stove which means that it is pulling the heat up the flue rather than allowing it to radiate into the room. It may be worth getting a flue draw test taken and if it is high have a stabilizer fitted. This would allow the stove to be more controlleable and the flue draw would be taken from the room rather than being pulled through the stove.
