Review of Charnwood Country 4 stove

Cheap and cheerful

Robert Hogben 13 years ago

This small stove is handsome and characterful and works fine for us in our dining room and the heat spreads around the house and helps warm the bedrooms.\n We also have a Clearview Solution 400 and the comparison is interesting. The Charnwood has a poor quality build,is more difficult to light, the airwash is less efficient. The firebox is too small even without the grate fitted so keeping it in at night is more of a challenge.\n However this is not a fair comparison, the Charnwood was less than a third of the price of the Clearview so they are not equivalent models. If you are on a tight budget or need to fit a small stove this is worth considering.\n\n

Stove expert replied: Price is not the only consideration when purchasing a stove but obviously a big factor for most people. The cheaper models can be just as rewarding but all stoves have their own idiosyncrasies that an owner will need to learn.
