Review of Charnwood Country 4 stove

I'm lovin' it !

I bought the Country 4 (woodburning version, no back-boiler) in Oct last year to replace an open fire. When it arrived (well-packaged, on a robust pallet), it looked tiny! At that point I was thinking that I had made a big mistake and should have gone for a bigger one. How wrong I was.... \n\nAdvantages:\nIt uses only a small fraction of the fuel compared with open fire, gives out useful heat almost straight away, heats a large room easily and takes surprisingly large logs. I've had no problems with any aspects of operation. \n\nDisadvantages:\nNone, except it's so easy to use that I can't fool the missus about my great firelighting skills being needed. \n\nNotes:\nThe glass stays clean unless using damp wood on a slow burn, and even then I just run it fast for a while, which turns the soot to a grey coating that wipes straight off - the ceramic cleaning stuff that I bought has gone unused!\nThe air control is amazing - it's almost like a gas fire, you can go from fierce burn to idle in seconds.\n\nIf you want a stove that fits in a tight space and will heat a decent-sized room, then I recommend this stove.
