Review of Charnwood Country 4 stove

Great little stove

Richard Carroll 9 years ago

I've just lit our first fire of the season! It's good to have it back!

We've had this stove for 4 years and on the whole I've been very please with it. The large window means it's good to look at and it certainly kicks out enough heat to warm our living space up.

I only burn wood in it and the stove allows great control of burn rate.

My only niggle is that after all this time the fire still emits a rather pungent 'chemical' smell when it gets up to temperature. This can last for up to an hour. I've tried different wood and it's made no difference. This rather spoils the effect of having a fire. The nasty smell is certainly stronger than the expected 'yummy burning wood' smell.

I've spoken to my sweep and he's unsure too.

Apart from that it's a corker!

Stove expert replied: I would recommend the installation be checked as you should not still be getting a smell.
