Review of Charnwood Country 4 stove

Fabulous!

Bizarrely, the shop where we bought this from didn't recommend it and said it wasn't good quality. It has, however, turned out to be a gem! On the downside, It isn't made from cast iron so it doesn't hold the heat when it goes out. It is extremely easy to light and incredibly controllable, almost as controllable as a gas fire. It is such a clean little thing compared to our other stove, a Hunter Herald (which is a filthy smokey horrible thing). Would I buy another? Absolutely! Our friends have the bigger version that has two doors which I find fiddly to open. This one however is very easy and has a wooden handle so you don't need heat proof gloves. It manages to heat a very cold room, 16 x 12 ft, with three external walls in an old farmhouse quite effectively. To sum up, it looks good, is so easy to use and control, and is clean to use. PS. We have had it four years now.
