Review of Charnwood Country 4 stove

Great wee stove, very pleased

Having considered much cheaper options, the first time we saw this, we both loved the design. Nice and modern and simple.

The handle mechanism is very slick and sturdy, we have the wooden handle and can always open it without a glove. The air control seems very effective and never had an issue with only having one control. When burning wood, the airwash is great, you can run for weeks without having to clean the glass, only gets a bit dirty at the bottom. When burning coal however it gets fairly dirty in a consistent pattern, really struggled to solve that.

Burns coal beautifully, definitely prefers larger pieces of coal. Very susceptible to poorly seasoned wood, I'm learning fast how to work out what is going to burn.

Overall, really delighted with it.

Stove expert replied: Do not use household coal on a closed appliance only smokeless unless the manufacturer states otherwise.
