Review of Charnwood Country 4 stove

is it noisy?

Steve Williams 11 years ago

I am about to buy the charnwood country 4 stove. I've looked at lots of other small 4-5kw stoves but almost decided on this one, as I like the look, and the sound of it, from all the great reviews on whatstove.

I'd just like some advise of off owners of that stove, as in is the stove noisy when heating up and cooling down? If it is, then this would put me off buying this steel stove and choosing another cast iron stove.

I've read reviews that other steel stoves are prone to noise, including 'ticking' and 'banging' as the steel body heats up to operating temperature.

Can anyone help me out and shed some light on this question

thanks

Stove expert replied: There should be no obvious noise of heating and cooling down, in my experience if there is then the welding is normally not complete somewhere in the manufacturing process. Very annoying but not normal.
