Fire will not shut down plus door partially came off its hinges

Purchased the Charnwood 4 multifuel a year ago. Please be warned that this fire does not turn down. I have to have the smallest fire as if I have a normal size fire it sets the smoke alarm off. Whilst washing the dishes last week I could hear the fire roaring and checked it, the door had come off on the top hinge... No good saying go back to the supplier as I did this and felt threatened as he had to travel 20 miles. He did not complain about the 20 miles drive when installing the stove!
