Review of Burley Hollywell 9105 stove
We are now quite pleased with the performance of the Hollywell but our installer had to install the stove twice which incurred extra expense and inconvenience.On first installation complete with fresh air feed pipe through wall behind stove the stove was not drawing properly and the flame pattern was very "one-sided". Our installer was most unhappy with it and took the stove out again before the cement round the air feed pipe was fully set. Eventually we removed some 6kg of blasting shot from the air passages, notwithstanding that the Burley "Quality Check List" card tied to the stove had a tick against "shot removed"!! We sent photos of the blasting shot and the Quality Check List card to Burley with a letter explaining what had happened. Their reply was to the effect that blasting shot was valuable stuff and therefore they "try to remove it" but that any left in the stove would make no difference to its performance. Our second letter pointed out that if a good 6kg of blasting shot had made no difference to the stove it would still be in our Hollywell and we would be completely unaware of it! The fact that it was probably all in one side of the air supply system must have caused the inability of the stove to draw properly and our need to remove the stove, clean it with a powerful industrial vacuum and re-install it --- all time and money. We have had no further reply of any kind to this second letter. We are looking at how to take this further.
