Review of Burley Hollywell 9105 stove

Purchased this woodburner a few months ago after seeing one in a showroom and reading the positive comments on this website. Thought I'd add my tupenny's worth...

Fitted the wood burner myself, which adds to the satisfaction of using it so far nearly every day since. It's our primary source of heating for our well insulated 3 bedroom house.

The major selling point for me is that the burner incorporates an air inlet pipe at the rear which can be ducted through the flank wall. We did this behind the fireplace, but there's no reason why the ducting shouldn't pass though another wall. Previously we had an open fire and I noticed how airless the room could get once the fire had sucked all the oxygen. This is not a problem with this woodburner as all the oxygen is taken from outside the room. Note; you have to buy the air ducting and adaptor separately from Burley as an extra.

The design is functional and modern, which might not be to traditionalist tastes. It goes with the style of our house, so I'm delighted with it. When I'm using some nice dry logs the fire through the glass looks superb.

One minor concern is the wood handle has come loose on a number of occasions, though I seem to have fixed that recently by carefully re-tightening the expansion bolt to its maximum. This is a small part of the installation process that seems to be unnecessarily fiddly.

Your chimney sweep will be happy too! I have had to sweep the flue once which was straightforward.

Stove expert replied: Good review and with the direct air kit on the stove this seems to be producing heat very well and giving one happy customer!
