Review of Burley Brampton 9108 stove

Burley Brampton Glass

I have had my burley Brampton for about 2 years and it has cost me a lot of money in parts, I have needed to replace 3 glass panels because of milky front which would not clean off. The cost of the glass was £93.00 each, replaced 2 log retainers at a cost of £15.00 each as they just fall apart, 2 x lower baffle cost £70.00 each, and also the top bracket that holds the lower baffle has come lose so not a very good stove. Burley just say I am over fuelling the stove which is not true, there is a common fault with this stove and it's costing me a lot of money in parts and so I would not recommend this stove to anyone. Very disappointed.

Stove expert replied: A stove can be overdrawn if the flue draw is in excess of the recommendation that is in the manual provided with every stove, it is not something that the customer will be in control of unless a damper or stabilizer is installed. Due to the continuous failure of internal parts this would seem to be the case in this instance and it is not a fault of the stove but down to the installation. Milky / cloudy glass is also indicative of an over drawn stove where it is subjected to higher than normal working temperatures for pro-longed periods, the flue draw should be checked urgently and remedial work undertaken.
