Review of Burley Brampton 9108 stove
Airwash doesn't work. Very disappointed,
Exactly like David Digby's review, we too already have damaged glass (permanent mistiness not removed by any cleaning, even the ceramic hob cleaner supplied with the stove) and it almost completely whites-over with fine ash within hours of lighting. This is a fundamental design fault I find it impossible to believe was not discovered during testing and even more perplexing is the lack of similar problems being reported by other customers. Have we bought a dodgy batch of this fire, Burley, and what steps can you now take to solve for us the clouding up glass and replacing the glass already permanently damaged? Until these problems are solved I cannot recommend this stove to other potential purchasers.
Stove expert replied: Cloudy glass is normally caused by the stove being over-fired, this may be due to an over-drawing flue and is not a fault with the stove. If the stove will not shut down to enable a slumbering fire then getting the flue draw checked should be carried out ASAP to prevent further damage. (This should be done when installation takes place but may vary depending on different weather conditions). The glass can't be cleaned completely once the cloudy deposits are visible in this situation and the damage does not affect the integrity of the glass. The only was is to replace the glass once the cause has been established and rectified.
