Review of Broseley Hercules 30b boiler stove
Brosley 30
Ok had for 10 Years plus. When purchased was led to believe it was an English Stove, after unacceptable unadvised delivery delays was advised that the container it was in was on a ship that had capsized and the container had sunk. A new excuse to me but one that proved to be true! Chinese ship sinks. Eventually on installation fairly simple, installing 2 &" and 5" insulated flues up the same chimney space slightly more challenging. Burner draws well and back boiler plumber separately into hot water (indirect) and then on reverse thermocouple switch over to pumped feed to radiators once hot water up to temp. even with 5 year cover stored ash and oak mix struggles to heat hot water to a 65 deg C switch over in a domestic HW cylinder - heat to room very disappointing approx 20% of clearview 750 installed elsewhere in a much bigger room and it burns about 5X more timber - after 10 years giving up and looking to bin this back boiler and go for an alternative 8-10Kw alternative. Huge saving in wood, hugely more heat. and less space needed for wood storage! Other issues, stove arrived with the top ? downwash air vent almost completely sealed with bad casting. To clear casting residue was very timely and required specialist tools which I had but impurities in casting destroyed 4 milling bits.
