Review of Bohemia 40 stove

Bohemia 40 inset stove

We purchased our stove in January 2011 had had it professionally installed. Initially we were very pleased. The stove is easy to light and it is easy to control. We have well seasoned logs that are cut for us to fit easily and we find that the stove gets to a good temperature quickly and is more that adequate to keep our lounge warm. In fact we need to keep a door open to stop the room from becoming too warm. The stove never burns overnight but we never put anything other than logs on it and do not try to make it continue burning overnight. We have had one negative issue and that it the firebox. In its first season the top of the firebox cracked. This did not seem very long to us. I did not go back to Pevex until later that year at the start of the second season. Eventually after some effort on my part they did replace the top of the firebox. Both of the sides of the box have also cracked and the new replacement top has also cracked again. Replacing the firebricks costs over £50 a time which is an expense I had not anticipated on such a regular basis.

Stove expert replied: It is disappointing to hear that you have to replace these parts so often, check that the stove is controllable and that you are not over firing it which is leading to the failures of the internal parts.
