Review of Aga Ludlow stove

Rear Baffle requires replacing after only 6 years

Matt Brooks 4 years ago

I have been very happy with the performance of this wood burner over the past 6 years, however I have recently noticed that the lower baffle plate has a crack running down the center so it should be replaced. Apparently the fixing hole spacings on this part have changed. This means that I am expected to pay out not only for this part, but also the middle baffle that it connects to and also the back plate that fits to the casing. This is over £200 on some websites. I did telephone Aga who did not really seem to care, so I am disappointed with the high cost for what I originally hoped would be a quality item.

The handle has also fallen off as the threaded part screws into a plastic that has stripped the thread. I use this wood burner with a flue pipe thermometer and have never allowed it to creep into the too hot range I do not think that overheating could have caused these problems.
