Really struggling with the air wash!

George P 8 months ago

The stove looks amazing and lights really well. It gives out a lot of heat, although the thermometer never says it’s hot enough (I even bought a new thermometer to check and this happens even when the fire has been on for long periods of time). It was professionally fitted by a company who are very well trusted in our area.

My problem with this fire is the air wash. I’ve had a few stoves over the years and the air wash on this one just doesn’t seem to work. I’ve used fuel from 4 different suppliers of kiln dried wood now, and I have a moisture meter, which suggests that it’s dry enough. The screen blackens every single night. I wipe it during burning and it just soots up again instantly, or later on in the evening. I’ve read and re read the instructions to check I have the correct vents open too. I have to clean it thoroughly each morning. For this reason, I’m quite disappointed with it and wished I’d have stuck with other brands I’d bought in previous houses.
