Disappointing heat

Bought the i400 insert/cassette stove as it looked well in the show room . It suits my room and it does look well . The heat it gives out is very disappointing and does not come close to the open fire it replaced , another issue is when the stove door is opened to refuel the fire , hot cinders tend to fall out and this damages the floor in front of the stove no matter how carefully you are.
