Review of Aarrow Ecoburn 5 defra

Get the G2B, or bite the bullet and get a clearview 400

The ECB5FPLUS SC Is the discontinued DEFRA MODEL. Do not recommend this. Only has top air flow. Lack of air seems to stifle fire making it difficult to light and sustain. Airwash doesn't reach to bottom of glass on the larger pane that the Plus has (rather than the standard ecoburn5 which also has 6 top vents incidentally) and it leaves a brown tar band across bottom of pane after only one burn of kiln dried ash. If you must get the 5plus , suggest the new G2B DEFRA model. I wish I'd gone for the clearview 400 now

Stove expert replied: If the flue draw is low this will affect the performance of the stove and checking the amount of free air in the room to allow for combustion is recommended. Normally the Defra models perform well as the air restriction allows air to pass through the stove continuously enabling the glass to stay clear. Further investigation regarding the installation is recommended.
