Review of Westfire 2 stove

Great woodburner

Mark Lucey 10 years ago

Bought a Westfire 2 as a replacement for a very old Efel Kaminette. It is a well made and very efficient woodburner. It heats our lounge really well. Very easy to light and is soon pumping out the heat. Does not stay in overnight. Easy to refuel and front glass stays clean thanks to airwash air inlets. Really pleased with it and would definately recommend to others. Cheaper than a similar sized Clearview. Very easy to install as it has same flue size as old Efel which it replaced. Very easy to control fire once lit. Did invest in a flue thermometer which is essential to ensure efficient burn temperature. Also bought an ecofan to aid heat distribution round room and that works just great. Firebox handle does get a bit hot. Westfire include a slightly flimsy fire glove to use when refuelling which did tear fairly quickly and I invested in a robust oven glove and that works fine.
