Review of Villager Esprit 7 Solo stove

Overall good stove.

Reasonably happy with this stove responsive and required heat for area required. The main quibbles I have are with the odd shaped throat plate that has a large flange at either side which inhibits the loading of logs it also covers only 75% of the stove top which to me seems a weird arrangement, (none of the other stoves in this range have this). Otherwise I am happy enough with my the purchase. Using solid fuel (Excel) the stove stays in all night quite easily and the airwash itself functions adequately.

Stove expert replied: The baffle plate should not impede adding fuel and may have been put in upside down, the tertiary holes need to be at the back of the stove and the plate sits as far back as possible allowing the gases to pass over the front of the plate and into the chimney. Check the position of the plate and perhaps use smaller amounts of fuel.
