This review is for the Shape 2 with soap stone. The stove looks very smart. This will be the second winter we are using it and I love it. Lighting it up is very easy, I had little experience
and never had any problems providing you follow the basic instructions. If outside temperatures is below zero it may take a bit longer for the flue to warm up but it is very easy to start it, just with newspaper and small pieces of wood.Because it is soapstone (or sandstone) it takes a bit longer for the room to warm up (something to consider as some people like quick heat), however once it gets warm (about 3 to 5 kg of wood would raise temp to about 20 deg C in a medium size UK living room on a cold day) it does not require many logs. I try to reach a room temperature of around 22 deg C, which I find comfortable. To maintain the temperature does not require burning much wood. I used a mixture of hard & soft wood and briquettes. The front glass is very easy to clean and the ash is also easy to clean. The pan only needs emptying 7 or 12 days, depending on the type of wood and quantity. I have noticed that burning hotter creates less ash.I took my time to select a stove for my living room overall I am very happy with the stove and I think that the relation quality versus price is realistic, particularly when comparing with Hwam models.
