Over Drawing
I fitted this stove 2 months ago, client is complaining about not being able to shut down the stove , as it is over pulling, I have gone back and confirmed that the stove dose not shut down much and is over drawing, I have contacted the supplier and they tell me the chimney must be over drawing and there is nothing they can do, THE CHIMNEY IS ONLY 8 METERS HIGH. So I don't see why it should over draw, I have fitted hundreds of stoves and never had a stove that can't be turned down unless the chimney was very high 14 meters plus, I suspect that the controls on the stove don't seal the incoming air very well that's why it won't shut down, I DON'T THINK I WILL BE FITTING ANY MORE !
Stove expert replied: The flue draw should have been checked when installing the stove to confirm that it matches what is stated by the manufacturer and the height of the flue is not the only consideration that should be taken into account. This is a Defra Approved stove so there will always be air passing through the stove, even when the controls are shut, to enable to flue gases to be suitably diluted to enable this to pass the necessary tests for smoke exempt areas.
