We recently installed the Stockton 14 with integral boiler in place of an open fire with back boiler. I read every review on all different makes of stoves but could not find a review on the
Stockton 14 but decided to go with this one anyway and I am not disappointed. We have a large 3000sq ft house and while the open fire with back boiler was good, there is no comparison to the Stockton. I only wish we had done it sooner. It has a great size of a fire box, making it easy to load. We have ours plumbed so that it heats the cylinder first and then sends heat to the rads, it takes a while to get the rads going as we have a big cylinder so on colder days it would need to be lit earlier to heat the house. The heat that it throws out into the room is immense compared to the open fire, we usually have to open the double doors to let the heat out now to the kitchen & dining room and it heats all 3 rooms well. You get a pair of the leather fire gloves with the stove which are great, we don't use the tool for opening the doors at all just the gloves, everyone with a stove should have these gloves - they're great! We bought a Deville ash vac a week after installing the stove as it is very hard to clean otherwise, so I would recommend getting one of those. All in all a great stove that delivers great heat to the room and the rads, it does what we want and more. It is a bit pricey but I think you get what you pay for. It does use quite a bit of fuel, (we burn peat & wood) to keep the rads going but it uses a lot less that the open fire. Airwash needs to be open all the time to prevent glass getting dirty and this makes the fuel burn quicker. As for burning through the night we never do it do cannot comment on this.
