Review of Stovax Riva 55 stove
Crazed glass on Riva 55
I have a two-year old Riva 55. Its had about 12 months of use since purchased in Nov 2011. I've recently noticed that the glass has a crazed appearance - but not on either surface, but appears to be inside the glass itself. We clean it after each fire using Stovax's own cleaner, have only ever used kiln-dried hardwood and use the air wash as recommended. The glass is not covered by a warranty. Is it normal for a glass to go like this after only 12 months of use?
Stove expert replied: Grazing of the glass is normally due to the stove slumbering for long periods. The grazing gradually gets worse but does not affect the strength of the glass.
