Review of Stovax Regency stove

Whereas most stoves look a bit 'Harvester' restuarant fake. This definitely looks the part. Looks grate (sic) in period properties. Mine is listed. But then it is a repro of the classic Franklin design. But if you eat in corporate run pubs and no guv'nor maybe you won't notice this. Really needs to be regarded as an open fire, because not being airtight it is not truly controlled. It is the most efficient open fire you could use, but again, not a stove. If you want a fire insert, this is for you. Don't bother with the rail, just gets in the way and gilds the lily a bit. I had the non-boiler, but upstairs (I had two) I have the boiler model. But output so low, hardly worth the plumbing effort. Swapped out the non-boiler for a Coalbrookdale Severn Boiler, (can't review it 'cos this site has no slot at time of writng for a CBD) to heat the rads around house when not using a Dowling (see my Dowling Sumo review). Good if all you want you want is a non boiler open fire that is easierr to clean and empty thatn an open grate fire. Won't slumber. Grate focal point to a period room
