Review of Short Penguin

Great little stove

Robert Scott 6 months ago

We bought a Chilli Penguin Short Eco (Penguin Bach) three years ago and are very pleased with it. We chose this for its compact size, since it fitted in the relatively small fireplace in the study. It is easy to light, and the firebox has good depth for its overall size, so it can put out a lot of heat when required. The airwash is effective at keeping the glass clean, except when running very slow. The door handle is easy to use, latches positively, and stays cool enough to open in order to add logs. My only criticism is that the control knobs get too hot to touch with bare hands. I learned that the painful way, hence a point deducted. It is not a big problem; it just means putting on the gloves provided to adjust the output.
