Review of Short Penguin

Love my stove.

Been using my short stove now 5 months. I love it. It''s clean & simple lines bring focus to the fire itself & it burns without any issues. It was long awaited and I am not disappointed.

There are two main downsides I have noticed Firstly, I chose a Polar Bear Belly colour and this coating even when received brand new needed topping up by my stove fitter & those patches definitely didn''t hold up as well as the rest of the paint. I feel it would have benefited from a further factory coat before getting shipped. Also, DO NOT leave your cooking plate in-situ when curing your fire, it makes the top look a holy mess. This will need respraying in spring to deal with this issue.

Secondly, I chose to have my stove on a plinth so it is taller & has a log store underneath. This looks fab when the stove is not in use, but during the winter when I am using the fire this all gets covered in ash, along with the lip between stove & plinth. If the stove had just a small catch lip above the air controls this would not happen, resulting in a much clearer stove & hearth over the winter time.

In all honesty though a great stove which keeps my whole house warm and a glow in my heart.

The supplier was excellent in providing me with advice & reassurance about my individual property. Don''t hesitate to ask them all your questions, they definitely changed some of my plans for the better & now I am glad they did.
