We wanted a stove with a simple modern look and after much searching and recommendations from friends we went for the Town and Country Saltburn. The stove is actually the same as the Dalby but
with a flat front. The build quality of the stove is excellent, good construction and well finished. The stove has lever controls rather than spinners and both the primary and secondary are easily adjustable with good fire control. My only criticism is that the handle does get hot and you need to either use gloves or the supplied silicon handle cover to operate the door. The large window gives an almost complete view of the firebox and keeps pretty clean in most circumstances. The stove is easy to light and gets up to temperature quickly and has a large enough firebox to take 12" logs.Heat output is excellent, heating our open plan two bedroom cottage nicely downstairs while the airflow keeps upstairs aired. We have a stove top fan and this does a good job of eliminating any cold spots downstairs.Fuel consumption is also good providing you use hardwood. We found hardwood gives significantly more heat and burns much slower than when using softwood, as an approximation I would say that we use 50% less wood when burning hardwood.Overall the stove is well made, looks good and performs very well and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
