Review of Morso Squirrel Cleanheat stove
Morso Cleanheat
Bought 7 years ago Our squirrel has done sterling work, Just right for evening heat in the shoulder seasons (late Feb/March/April-Sept/Oct/November) and as welcome boost to central heating in the colder months, have just replaced all firebricks (they tend to crack but stay in place) and the baffle plate,it's a very messy and dirty but reasonably easy to do job with easily obtainable spares. The old Baffle plate was rusted, twisted and misshapen due in some part to damp wood.....so beware where your fuel comes from! Keeping the Squirrel in overnight is a bit of an art(!) and the easiest method is a shovelful of the cheapest "slack coal" you can obtain when you retire.
A quick twist on the airflow when you make your first cuppa in the morning and the Squirrel is alive and glowing again.....more responsive than our dog!!Stove expert replied: The baffle plate should be removed once a month to check that the airway is clear. Internal components should be replaced if distorted as this may affect the way the stove performs.
