Review of Morso Squirrel Cleanheat stove

The bees' knees

Thomas Coronwen 15 years ago

I have a Harmony 13 in one fireplace and a Morso Squirrel in the other. The difference couldn't be greater. The Morso is easy in every way - it really does do what it says on the box - make heat. And that's despite mine having a back boiler and therefore reduced capacity. If you want to know what I think of the Harmony read that review too! One tip - an Ecofan on a Squirrel really wafts the heat around but, if the flue exits on top, there's little space for it. If it's near the flue itself the Ecofan will not last - six months before the peltier effect material gets fried. I painted a heating vent black and wrapped it round the base of the flue as a heatsink. Looks OK and my replacement Ecofan has now been running for seven years.
