Review of Morso Squirrel 1412 smokeless stove

Morso 1412

DAVID 14 years ago

After reading the reviews here on the Morso 1412 I decided to go ahead with one. I have used it daily now for 6 weeks. I bought it originally for the purpose of heating up one family room. The room is 13 ft x 18 ft. I am impressed with the amount of wood it burns. I use about 12 split logs (10" long)for a long evening of warmth during the cold winter months. The heat is fast but it takes around 1 hour to warm the outer areas of the room. I find it best to get your fire established and then put as much wood on as you can. Get the flue temperature up to its highest point and then turn down the lower spinner to close off the air. This results in a constant burn which throws out the heat. I am new to wood burners but if you have a free supply of wood, I would not hesitate to recommend you to have one as an alternative supply of heating and the Morso Squirrel has definitely been good for me. I would buy another one. More interesting to watch than the television.

Stove expert replied: Nice review, good control evident and heat output to fuel used good. Certainly helps with fuel bills. The flame picture is always interesting to watch on cold evenings when you're glad to be indoors, warm and toasty.
