Review of Morso 06 stove

Good stove but problematic

John Young 12 years ago

Looks good. Easy to light. Plenty of heat...but there has been a persistent unpleasant smell after several months use this has not really gone away. The effect is really in our throats and gives us headaches.

The supplier says nothing wrong. A dilemma. Where to go next? The CO alarm remains quiet. Is it possible to have gas analysis to look for SO2 or high CO2 levels?

Stove expert replied: If installer unable to help try contacting Hetas and ask if they have a specialist in your area that could visit, it may cost a little but for peace on mind would be worth it. Hope you get is sorted so that you can enjoy the stove more in the future.

We have just purchased a Morso stove and we are experiencing the same thing with the smell - its not mentioned by other reviewers so I wonder if they did experience it as a short term problem that disappeared after a few uses, or whether they did not experience it at all. At the moment we are running the stove - but with all the doors and windows open, hoping the "new factory volatiles" will burn off? Really giving us a headache, so am very interested to know if this problem was solved!
