Review of Little Wenlock stove
Secondary air control
We have just lit our little wenlock for the first time and are finding it impossible to damp the fire down. The secondary air control at the top only moves about 1cm. Is this right or is it faulty? Even with the bottom vent completely closed the fire is burning very fast.
Stove expert replied: If the stove is a smoke exempt model then the air control at the top will have little movement as it allows a bleed of air at all times to dilute the flue gases. If this is causing a problem then a damper or stabilizer may be an option to have put on the flue system to give more control.
