Review of Invicta Sedan 10 stove

Stay far away

The woodstove emits a horrible chemical smell in the house. We have had the stove for over two years and this smell has not decreased. Furthermore, the side door didn't close properly when we received the stove and the gasket string around the winder fell off within a few weeks. The 5 year warranty is useless to us because INVICTA never returns our emails. By the way, while the stove looks as though it is made of one part, it is actually comprised of several different parts that are held together. Oh, and forget about it burning for 8 hours. It burns for about 3 hours, four hours max.

Stove expert replied: As you are having issues with this stove you need to contact your supplier who is responsible for any warranty issues that occur, your contract is with whoever you paid your money to in the first instance. These stoves are made in panels and then bolted together which is not uncommon when they are made from cast iron. Have you replaced the gasket around the winder? If not, then this could be why you are finding the burn time is reduced as air is being drawn through this gap and full control of the stove is not possible. The smell may be that the stove is burning too hot, have you a stove thermometer so you can check this? If not it is certainly something to consider so no permanent damage takes place.
