This is everything you would want from a stove. We bought this fire 5 years ago,and though we have never had another, it is a joy to behold and use. Most negative comments said are minimal and occur infrequently. I think the bolts on the flue dampener are totally in keeping with look of the fire. I am inexperienced with other handles..I'd ask some-one if this is unusual, but it is something I would expect from a cast iron made implement. Only thing I would have liked more info. on is burning the stove with both wood and coal in relation to use of the air flow controls.
